1. Arming and Disarming

ARM – Tap your fob, pause, tap again to confirm and leave by agreed route. If using user codes; enter your code, answer question on screen pressing <YES> to fully arm, leave by agreed route.

DISARM – Enter by agreed route. Panel beeps, tap fob onto keypad once to disarm. If using codes; enter your code once only to disarm. Check the screen is normal or if an alarm has activated since you have been on site, see section (3) below.

2. Arm Fail & Zone Omit

Arm Fail? – the system will not arm for you to leave site? This could be a previous alarm activation that was not reset correctly, see section (3) below, or a zone is live/active, i.e door open or sensor blocked movement or view blocked. The external bell can often indicate this also.

To Resolve – return to keypad, [Arm Fail] displayed & often the [affected zone number]. Fob once or enter code followed by <RESET> button.

Resolve the problem next and then prepare to arm once again in the normal way.

Zone Omit – You can arm the intruder system with a zone or zones omitted. This can be useful if a zone needs to be omitted overnight. To do this enter your code or tap the fob onto the keypad once. Press <OMIT> button, use arrows to choose the zone to omit, press <OMIT> & press <MENU> & then enter your code or tap the fob to arm. Note a zone omit will return to normal state when the system is next disarmed.

3. Alerts and Resets

System Alerts are when the system has a fault to display, or has not been reset after an alarm condition. The display may show [[SYSTEM ALERTS]].

Enter a valid user code or tap your fob. Any alarms or faults will be displayed. If several fault or alarm conditions have been triggered, the display will scroll through each in turn. After noting the cause of the alarm or fault, the system can be reset as described below. NOTE for some faults the MASTERCODE may be needed.

Alarm activations must be reset before the system can be armed once again.

3.1 To Reset the Alarm

To Reset the Alarm, enter a valid user code or tap your fob. The screen will read [[DO YOU WANT TO ARM SYSTEM?]], press the <RESET> button. The external strobe if operating will now stop, the system will chime, and the display will return to normal. If this does not clear a fault, for example a mains fail, you must enter the Mastercode and follow same process.

* If an UNCONFIRMED full alarm activation - ie one alarm trigger, customers can reset. Tap fob once, or enter user code, to silence the activation as is described in the line item above. This is sufficient.

* If a CONFIRMED full alarm activation – ie more than one alarm trigger, an extra level of security maybe required. You are likely to need to contact the ARC or an Engineer for a reset. See below.

3.2 ENGINEERS Reset

If the system has been programmed to be reset by an Engineer following a confirmed alarm activation, you will still be able to silence the alarm by entering a valid user code or tapping your fob, but the system cannot be armed again until the alarm has been fully reset.

To achieve a full reset, contact the telephone number on the display or call Brodman and request an 'Engineers Reset'.

3.3 ANTI-CODE Reset

If the system has been programmed to be reset using an Anti-Code following a confirmed alarm activation, you will still be able to silence the alarm by entering a valid user code or tapping your fob, but the system cannot be armed again until the alarm has been fully reset.

To reset the alarm, proceed as follows: Enter a valid user code or tap with a fob. The screen will then read [[Press RESET for Anti Code]] Pressing <RESET> button will reveal a random code number. The display will read:-

[[ Quote > 4281 ]]

[[ Reply   > ????   ]]

Contact the telephone number on the display (if programmed) for the ARC and quote the random code number. You will be given a 4-digit Anti-Code i.e. 5624. Enter the Anti-code that has been given to you as follows :-

[[  Quote > 4281  ]]

[[  Reply   > 5624  ]]

If the Anti-code is correct, the keypad will chime to indicate that the system has been reset and the display will return to normal.

4. System Alerts

A System Alert! is a fault or interference/tamper warning. This could cause the system to fully activate if system was armed. Tap your fob (or enter your user code) to display the alerts. Fix those faults & tap the fob (or enter the user code) again. Press <RESET> to reset back to normal
